Dan earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh in 1987 and a law degree with honors in 1990.
In 2011, he was named as one of the Top 50 Lawyers in Pittsburgh by Super Lawyers magazine. He has also been named to Woodward & White’s list of Best Lawyers in America, Workers’ Compensation practice, since 2007, and to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list since 2010. Attorney Bricmont has also received the Pennsylvania Association for Justice’s George F. Douglas Jr. Amicus Curiae Award for appellate advocacy. Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania in 1990, he was also admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals of the 3rd Circuit in 1996, and the United States Supreme Court in 1998. He is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association where, since 2003, he has been a faculty member, course planner and currently is chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice where he continues to be a member of the board of governors since 1998, and a member of the Amicus Curiae Committee since 1999.
His practice areas include workers’ compensation law, civil litigation, civil appeals and personal injury appeals. Attorney Bricmont has presented and authored continuing legal education programs for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and Bureau of Workers’ Compensation on topics such as Handling the Workers’ Compensation Case, Tough Problems in Workers’ Compensation, Annual Updates for Civil Litigators and Ethics.
Dan is a Certified Specialist in Workers Compensation Law having fulfilled the rigorous requirements and passed the test administered by the Pa. Bar Association as permitted by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Dan is also a Fellow of the College of Workers Compensation Lawyers, a national honor society which recognizes only a small class of lawyers who practice in the field of workers compensation.
In addition to his work for his clients, attorney Bricmont has also served the community in which he resides, as the mayor of Avalon Borough, Allegheny County, from 1994-2005, and since 1995, as a member of the Allegheny County Air Pollution Control Advisory Committee where he continues to serve as its chairman since 1998.
